Had to make room on the mantle this year for a new baby boy's stocking!
Christmas is always interesting at our house, because Gus is infamous for not liking boxes. He HATES them! He usually just lays down and tries not to make sudden movements as to disturb the boxes. We, of course, like to taunt him by sliding boxes toward him (don't submit us to PETA, please). :)
Waldo, so far, seems pretty indifferent. Perhaps this stems from the fact that he is three times the size of any possible threat. Perhaps he's just too dopey to be scared of a piece of cardboard. Whatever it is, I'm happy, because that means I don't have a 90-pound 8-month-old tearing around the house all the time.
On Christmas Eve, Waldo and Gus got some rawhides from Aunt Ashley. After they each consumed half a stick, the hubs and I decided they won't be eating those any longer. Phewee!! They stunk up the whole living room! We love them, but when they were making farts that smelled worse than last month's garbage, we decided the rawhides had to go. (And we know, we know--rawhides aren't good for them, anyway.)
On Christmas Day, the boys were very excited about the contents of their stockings. They squeaked!!
Inside, Waldo had a squeaky hot dog (courtesy of a work White Elephant exchange, thankyouverymuch), and Gus had a squeaky chicken. Sadly, for as well-behaved as our dogs are, they aren't always well-behaved with each other. Kinda like kids.
Gus thought this gift was his--after all, it had his name on it! Alas, it was a gift for mommee--Milk Duds--from cousins Rainbeau and Duncan! Sorry, Gus. They know we're dog people! Sadly, Waldo will never have his picture on wrapping paper. He's too oddly colored. Unless I find dalmatian paper and color the white parts gray.
Gus was totally thrilled with mommee's gift of a labelmaker. Hmm, maybe not. (click on the pic for some zoom)
Gus and Waldo ended up having a very profitable Christmas. Rope tugs and treats from Great-Grandma, treats from Great-Aunt Linda, BIG box of treats from Aunt Ashley, a new KONG from mommee and daddee, and a very cool paw print kit from Grandma. Thanks, everybodee!!
