I haven't watched it yet. I have read the book, and I'm not so sure I want to watch the movie. Maybe on a sad day when I'm all by myself. Only bad thing: the special features disc is Blu-Ray only! :(
I also got my order from Pop Dog Press! I've been wanting these for a while, and I was so excited when they came in the mail!! Pop Dog is an awesome company based in Canada that has all kinds of dog-related paraphernalia. The greatest thing is that many of their items are silhouette-based, so odd-colored dogs like my boys are still accounted for! Go and check out their store for more cool things!
Finally, now that the kitchen floor is done, I'm so excited to get these put up:
We bought them at Ikea a while ago. Seems like they'll fit well in our kitchen!

We thought we would share two videos with you today on Video Viernes. The first is of Waldo playing keep away with a gift he got in the mail from Ludo:
The second is of Gus playing keep away with a gift we got in the mail from Stella:
We were also blessed to get 2 awards this week! The first was from our friend Ludo (yes, the same Ludo who gave Waldo the birthday gift--he's super nice!):
"As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging. To seek the reason why we all love blogging.
Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it.
Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.
Answer the Award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging."
Well, we love blogging for a few reasons. 1) Arr mommee and daddee don't have hooman kidz yet, and arr grandmommee'z like to heer about their granddogs! 2) Mommee loves that she has all of our funny moments and stories written down so that she can remember them. 3) Because now we are a part of an amazing blogging community! We have gotten to know a bunch of other dogs and dog moms, and you are always there to support us and give us paws up or paws of support when we need it! That's why we love blogging!
Honey was nice and gave us our award back! Thank you, Honey!
This weekend we have something exciting: we are going to meet our friend Saint Lover and her big dogs! They are coming into town, and we CAN'T WAIT to meet them! We'll make sure to take lots of pics!

If you haven't heard of Paw It Forward before, here's the explanation:
"The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way. This is how it works... We are going to agree to send something fun, inspiring or uplifting to 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn you will do the same on your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness doesn't have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around."
Now, typically you send this to the first 3 people that comment, but we thought we'd have a little fun with it. You can get up to 3 entries in this drawing:
1) Leave a comment on this post, telling us how you like to show kindness to others.
2) Mention this "Paw It Forward" on your blog, and leave a separate comment telling us you did so.
p.s. Mommee got this idea from one of her favorite blogs, where she was a winner in a contest kind of like this!! Here's her prize!!

We'd like to say "TANK WOO" to those of you who have passed awards on to us recently!! We have recognized you on the sidebar of our blog. If you see that we have missed one of your awards, please bring it to our attention! I tried to keep up with everything when we were on vacation, but I was remiss in thanking some puppies. Thanks to Dozer, Samantha, and Paco and Milo!!
Speaking of awards, we thought we would make our very first award!! Presenting...
This award is presented to those dog bloggers out there who know the meaning of GREATNESS. Their blogs are consistently interesting, funny, or informative. Their KINDNESS is extended to others without expectation of it's return, and their FRIENDSHIP inspires others to do EXTRAORDINARY things. These are the blogs you can't wait to read everyday. In short, they are AWE-INSPIRING, full of wonder, and simply PAWsome!
Pass this award on to 4 others who you feel exemplify a "Paw"some Blog, and leave a note saying why you think they deserve the Pawsome Award!
After a "verree long deeliburayshun," we have decided to pass this award to....
...NALA AND AMBER!! We are always very excited when we see "NW Ridgeback" pop up in our Google Reader! Nala and her mommee share some wonderful adventures together. We really wish that we lived closer, because we think we would all get along together so well! Nala and her mommee do a lot of travelling--and her mommee is a great documentarian, who always has beautiful pictures of beautiful places!
...AMBER-MAE!! Wow, Amber-Mae has had an amazing few weeks! If you don't know her, you can go to her blog and check out her beautiful self--and her 7 newborn puppies! Not only did her family do a great job in documenting their birth, but they also had a touching tribute to the 3 puppies that didn't make it. Amber is also a show dog, and she has great grooming and showing tips on her blog!
...MELISSA AND EMMITT!! Wow, are these two cool friends! Melissa is an amazing artist, who creates paintings, drawings, stuffed animals and dog beds--and Emmitt the Pug is her muse! Melissa is always creating new and interesting dog items for her Etsy shop, and she doesn't just have Pug items, either! Her blog (and her Etsy shop) are TOTALLY worth your time to check out--especially check out her "blind drawings"! Pawsome!
...and TRAVIS!! We are new friends of Travis, but WHEW! He sure does keep his blog hoppin'! There are always amazing contests and challenges for other bloggers to enter. Not only that, but he also hosts Supa Saturday and has an alter-ego (Bark Kent) who does interviews with famous blogging doggies! We don't know how Travis keeps up with everything, but we sure think his blog is Pawsome!
Picking only 4 blogs was SOOOO hard. Seriously, when we went through our Google Reader, we had reasons to pick almost everyone!! We REALLY hope that you will share our award with others, because so many dog bloggers out there deserve this one! We love you!!

She was pretty timid at first. She would only hide under her mommee's legs to say hi.
When we went outside, she only laid down and didn't want to play.
(sorry about the video quality--I had the wrong setting on my camera)
She even jumped over her mommee and hid on the couch to get away from the boys! I think she did not like being sniffed in such an unladylike fashion.
She doesn't have stairs in her home in Kentucky, so she also got to experience them for the first time. Going up was not as big of a deal. Going down, though? SCARY.
Pretty soon, she warmed up to the boys and was playing tug-of-war and bitey face with them like a champ!
We were so happy to meet you, Stella! We can't wait for your next visit!
pee ess: Waldo is demonstrating his "dog park behavior" in this video. Can you see now why we call him "The Policeman"?

It's a little more crowded with 3 in the Doggehmobeel, but they seemed to manage okay. Gunner whined the ENTIRE time, even after correction. Man, she's really annoying sometimes.
When we got there, Gus and Waldo ran around with a couple of new friends from Massachusetts. Because we live near an Air Force base, we get lots of visitors for a few months at a time. These guys are here until May.
Gunner, however, stayed in this spot pretty much the entire 2 hours. Poor thing. Trapped inside her own, tortured mind.
Gus spent his time making new friends,
and Waldo spent his time hip-to-hip with his new best friend, Tucker (who, incidentally, quietly ignored Waldo the whole time).
Whew! Tired after a long day of fun!
All in all, a MUCH better visit than the last time. The most dogs at a time were 12, and 5 of those were min-pins and chihuahuas, who the dogs ignored anyway. Success!

Furst iz a stuffee pengwin. It akshually had no stuffeez in da boddee, onlee in da head. But aftur sum strateegik pulling, bof Gus and I manidged to pull da head off! We really weren't sure for a while whether Waldo would make it to his first birthday, as you can see in the video I made for him (at the bottom of the post). The mange completely took over his little body, and we thought we were going to have to put him down at Thanksgiving. But God truly watched over our little boy and made him a FIGHTER!! I know we're supposed to give Waldo presents for his birthday, but the gift he gave me was the best one--he had his first negative mange scraping since AUGUST! When the vet told me it was negative, I cried. It's been such a long battle, but he really pulled through and I couldn't be more excited.
Anyways, enough with the sob story. On to the good stuff!!
We got a new cookbook, and made a Marvelous Muttloaf for the boys. It smelled better than the pupcakes I made for Gus' first birthday, but not by much. Nick said it smelled like "dog vomit". The boys didn't seem to mind too much, though. In fact, Waldo was licking his lips while I was preparing their bowls for dinner!!
All three babies (we're dogsitting Gunner) waiting so patiently for the "OK" signal from daddee....
Nom, nom, nom....
Gunner enjoyed hers so much, she pushed it underneath Gus' legs! This is highly unusual, because she usually doesn't like being within 5 feet of any other dog! The meatloaf must have been more powerful than her fear!
We'll post some more on Thursday about the dessert that they had--right now our post is getting too long. We'll leave you with this video of pictures--a small portion of Waldo's first year!

We've already seen how high he will jump for a tennis ball in this video. Clearly, a dog that is willing to extend to such heights is a danger to the environment around him. He should be put away for the safety my household objects.
You will notice in this picture how Waldo is surrounded by 3 tennis balls. He is also gnawing on a 4th. If Gus were to try to gain access to any of the surrounding tennis balls, Waldo would drop the one he has in his mouth and go for the one Gus is trying to obtain. Clearly he should be put away so he is not a danger to others.
Many times, for Waldo one is never enough. He can be found at any one time with two or even THREE tennis balls in his mouth at a time! Mommee is a good supervisor, so he won't choke when she's watching, but left to his own devices, we are afraid of what he might do to himself. He should be put away for the safety of himself.
What do you think? Committed, or just cute?

Gus: We wanted to take a minit to say sum words abowt all of da enntrees in da Tricks For Treats contest. All of da jidges were furry impressed wif all of da difrent tricks, and it iz too bad dat dere cood only be one winnur. We iz gowing to have da mommee write abowt it so dat it iz eezyr to reed.
Mommee: Thanks, guys. You are right. There were so many fabulous tricks, and we are sad that there could only be one winner, because we think everyone deserves recognition for their hard work and practice! To all of the entrants: make sure you send your snail mail address to us so that we can send you your gifts!
Dozer, well done on a great win. Your bringing in the groceries trick made everyone laugh and smile, and wish that they could do a trick that helpful. p.s. Gus and Waldo do NOT say thank you, as I've been making them practice this trick every day. :)
Honey, you made it a VERY close race! Everyone was very impressed with your salsa dancing, which is not a surprise, since you are the Dancing Queen! We hope to see some of these brilliant moves in your next dance contest!
Fenway, your agility astounds us! You learned how to do the teeter-totter so quickly--Gus and Waldo won't even go near a piece of wood! We are very impressed, and look forward to seeing your entries in those amazing agility contests! You will do great!
Behr Behr, we got so many compliments on your toy clean-up! And even more compliments on your shiny, beautiful coat. Keep working hard at your tricks--we know your mommee likes it when you concentrate on them!
Mango, each judge commented on your relentlessly huge body, and wondering how you achieved such heights of levitation! Keep practicing with the PeeWee--it is working!
Tucker, your trick was simply amazing! You waited so patiently and so still--it was a feat of magnificence, for sure. We hope your mommee rewards you with extra treats for your hard work!
Winnie, that toilet-flushing trick is so cool! Are you learning how to USE the toilet, too? We laughed so hard when we saw your new trick! We can't wait to see what you can do in the future!
Johann, you always have such neat tricks--and things that no one else comes up with! You also have fabulous execution. Your "sit" was so crisp and quick! Waldo is taking notes on your obedience speed as we speak.
Ludo, we loved your story! Poor Penny needs to speak up for herself--she seems to be an easy target! Everyone needs to go and watch the other tricks that you've posted, too. You are one talented puppy!
Mason Dixie, we think you are beautiful without "sitting pretty", but when you sat up like that, Gus started drooling. I think he's in LOOOVE!
Cody, you had so many wonderful tricks, all strung together! Are you learning how to doggie dance like Honey? We think you should--you have some fabulous moves! Combine those with your swimming ability, and you are one Renaissance Man!

Head on over to Dozer's blog to give him your congrats! A job well done, indeed!
Congratulations to all of our entrants--the tricks were truly fantastic! Please email your snail mail addresses to allisonwalton79 at gmail dot com to get your certificates (and to get your prize pack, Dozer!).
Way to go!
p.s. Mommee played a mean trick on us today--she bought us some new treats, but isn't letting us have ANY of them!! Something about saving them for Waldo's 1st birthday next week. Not sure what that means, but we're pretty mad!
