Thanks, everyone, for the commiseration the last time we went to the dog park. It is both encouraging and disappointing to know that so many of you have had similar experiences. I didn't want Waldo to be forever scarred, so I decided to take he and Gus back to the dog park--not on a weekend, and not after work gets out. I had an off-day for subbing, so I took all 3 dogs to the park on a Thursday at 1:00 in the afternoon.
It's a little more crowded with 3 in the Doggehmobeel, but they seemed to manage okay. Gunner whined the ENTIRE time, even after correction. Man, she's really annoying sometimes.
When we got there, Gus and Waldo ran around with a couple of new friends from Massachusetts. Because we live near an Air Force base, we get lots of visitors for a few months at a time. These guys are here until May.
Gunner, however, stayed in this spot pretty much the entire 2 hours. Poor thing. Trapped inside her own, tortured mind.
Gus spent his time making new friends,
and Waldo spent his time hip-to-hip with his new best friend, Tucker (who, incidentally, quietly ignored Waldo the whole time).
Whew! Tired after a long day of fun!
All in all, a MUCH better visit than the last time. The most dogs at a time were 12, and 5 of those were min-pins and chihuahuas, who the dogs ignored anyway. Success!
