Another Dog Park Attempt

Thanks, everyone, for the commiseration the last time we went to the dog park. It is both encouraging and disappointing to know that so many of you have had similar experiences. I didn't want Waldo to be forever scarred, so I decided to take he and Gus back to the dog park--not on a weekend, and not after work gets out. I had an off-day for subbing, so I took all 3 dogs to the park on a Thursday at 1:00 in the afternoon.

It's a little more crowded with 3 in the Doggehmobeel, but they seemed to manage okay. Gunner whined the ENTIRE time, even after correction. Man, she's really annoying sometimes.

When we got there, Gus and Waldo ran around with a couple of new friends from Massachusetts. Because we live near an Air Force base, we get lots of visitors for a few months at a time. These guys are here until May.

Gunner, however, stayed in this spot pretty much the entire 2 hours. Poor thing. Trapped inside her own, tortured mind.

Gus spent his time making new friends,

and Waldo spent his time hip-to-hip with his new best friend, Tucker (who, incidentally, quietly ignored Waldo the whole time).

Whew! Tired after a long day of fun!

All in all, a MUCH better visit than the last time. The most dogs at a time were 12, and 5 of those were min-pins and chihuahuas, who the dogs ignored anyway. Success!

Glad Waldo and gus had a good time at the dog park. I read your previous post about that stoopid owner who let her aggressive dog in the park - what was she thinking?

Love,
Homer

Hi Gus and Waldo! I'm glad you had a better time at the dog park this time. Zeke and I still haven't been back to our doggie park. We'll see.

Good to hear that Waldo had a better experience.

We went to the dog park today too. I used to act like Gunner except Dad was my "fence" and I couldn't be more than a few feet from him. I still don't play like Brice does but now I do run around and occasionally sniff some other dogs and people.

Oh I'm so glad to hear that this time went better! I go to a wonderful park, but it's an offleash park and NOWWWW... there are pretty responsible owners who watch their doggies carefully. By now we all know each other pretty well, so it's a very good situation for me, Sammie! Again, so glad it went well and Hoppy Easter doggies!
Hugs and Love xo,
Sammie

Hi Guys
Stopped by to wish you a Happy Easter.
Glad the dog park visit went better - we dont have dog parks in the UK but sometimes our walks have been ruined by out of control dogs with no owners in sight!!!
Take care

I am happy you had a better time at the park. Gunner just likes to watch the action, huh? Nothing wrong with that.

I see Gus is a total suck up just like my brother. Those sporty dogs are shameless.

Tucker's bumm must have smelled good I guess.

Congrats on the successful dog park trip! Mama won't take me to the dog park, because she thinks I'll pick fights. I dunno why, I've only done that, like, 12 times in my whole life. What? That's not so bad, there's way more than 12 annoying dogs that I've met! I didn't pick fights with ALL of them!

We are thrilled that you had a most successful and tiring Dog Park visit! Maybe it was Gunner's vigilence...is she on duty or is she just shy? Poor thing.

Oh, and I whine, too. And my human is also ready to chew glass once I get started.

Your pal,
Fenway
