We had such a wonderful day with our little boy yesterday! I can't believe he's already one! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing home the little baby with the humongous feet who was scared of EVERYTHING. Now he's a big, dopey boy who is still scared of some things, and has finally grown into those feet.
We really weren't sure for a while whether Waldo would make it to his first birthday, as you can see in the video I made for him (at the bottom of the post). The mange completely took over his little body, and we thought we were going to have to put him down at Thanksgiving. But God truly watched over our little boy and made him a FIGHTER!! I know we're supposed to give Waldo presents for his birthday, but the gift he gave me was the best one--he had his first negative mange scraping since AUGUST! When the vet told me it was negative, I cried. It's been such a long battle, but he really pulled through and I couldn't be more excited.
Anyways, enough with the sob story. On to the good stuff!!
We got a new cookbook, and made a Marvelous Muttloaf for the boys. It smelled better than the pupcakes I made for Gus' first birthday, but not by much. Nick said it smelled like "dog vomit". The boys didn't seem to mind too much, though. In fact, Waldo was licking his lips while I was preparing their bowls for dinner!!
All three babies (we're dogsitting Gunner) waiting so patiently for the "OK" signal from daddee....
Nom, nom, nom....
Gunner enjoyed hers so much, she pushed it underneath Gus' legs! This is highly unusual, because she usually doesn't like being within 5 feet of any other dog! The meatloaf must have been more powerful than her fear!
We'll post some more on Thursday about the dessert that they had--right now our post is getting too long. We'll leave you with this video of pictures--a small portion of Waldo's first year!
