Waldo --> Mental Institution

We think Waldo may need to be committed. He is crrrrazy about tennis balls! We knew that woo all out there in bloggerland would not agree to this sentencing without solid proof, so we have come up with 3 exhibits for your consideration.

Exhibit 1:
We've already seen how high he will jump for a tennis ball in this video. Clearly, a dog that is willing to extend to such heights is a danger to the environment around him. He should be put away for the safety my household objects.

Exhibit 2:

You will notice in this picture how Waldo is surrounded by 3 tennis balls. He is also gnawing on a 4th. If Gus were to try to gain access to any of the surrounding tennis balls, Waldo would drop the one he has in his mouth and go for the one Gus is trying to obtain. Clearly he should be put away so he is not a danger to others.

Exhibit 3:

Many times, for Waldo one is never enough. He can be found at any one time with two or even THREE tennis balls in his mouth at a time! Mommee is a good supervisor, so he won't choke when she's watching, but left to his own devices, we are afraid of what he might do to himself. He should be put away for the safety of himself.

What do you think? Committed, or just cute?

Sandy here - I had seen from your profile that you were from Dayton. I am from West Chester (right by IKEA!!!). We also have a great dog park on the Tylersville exit. It is at Voice of America park and there are actually 3 fenced-in areas for all sized dogs. You should take a drive down and check it out sometime. We were just up in downtown at the art museum the other day. Let me know if you are ever down this way. I'd love to meet you guys!

Cute as can be. The late, very lamented Spencer often had 3 tennis balls at a time in his mouth. We suggest the tennis balls be incarcerated when you are not home for Gus's protection.

According to the Principles of the Act in the UK the least restrictive option should be considered!
We say let him carry on - he seems to be having fun!

Today's PAWsition is definitely left over right!

Way to go Waldo!

Life is too short not to have fun with tennis balls!

You guys have actual tennis balls at your house? I LOVE tennis balls, but they are forbidden due to the larger than tennis ball size of my throat. Enjoy them while you can, Waldo, my man, because you will soon be a full sized doggie like myself.

Nothing strange about loving tennis balls. Our Ellie can do a three-fur, but usually carries only two. She thinks they are the best toys ever.

Absolutely cute!

I think there's a joke somewhere here.. how many balls can a dog hold in his mouth...

as many as gus wants to get.

Well Gus, I would say crazy and he needs to be put away if you need some alone time but otherwise pretty darn cute! Glad your Mommy is such a good supervisor!

Your humans need to find some tennis courts and raid the garbage cans on Monday morning, for "dead balls." That's what H-Mom does once in awhile. It's great - you can even find LOADS of them walking around OUTSIDE the fence by the courts.

Oh Waldo - I am so happy to find another Dane who is obsessed about tennis balls too! But I only know how to carry 1 ball at a time - you must teach me how to carry 2 in my mouth!!

The first step is just admitting he has a problem... is he ready to do that. I think tennis ball withdrawal is pretty ugly too - so think about that before you take any action.
