Where We Sleep

A while ago, Honey tagged us for a fun game. In this game, we are supposed to tell everyone where we sleep!

When we were little, we both slept in the dreaded cage. You can see how excited we both were to be in it. When Waldo came, Gus had grown up enough to sleep in his own bed out of the cage. But we don't have a picture of it, because he chewed it up! You can see that when we were puppies, we both used towels in the bottom of our cage until we learned not to pee and not to chew. Mommee also used the blanket to keep us quiet at night--she would put it over our cage so we had our own dog cave! How thoughtful of her. We like our privacy.

(see how Waldo had to have boxes? He took a LONG time to understand the "no peeing in the cage" thing)

Dat cage? It is now in the best place it could possibly be: folded up in the garage!! Wahoo! No more getting locked in!

Now we are allowed to sleep wherever we want. When mommee and daddee are working, we like to be in the same room with them, so we can usually be found like this:

But when it is time for bed, or the "sleepytime" command, this is what we do:

(mommee says please ignore the box of clothes in the room. She has been meaning to take it to Goodwill for many months, but it is so heavy and she is lazy.) :)

Aah! Sleep is great!

If you haven't played this game yet, we invite you to join in! It is a good time!

Oh Gus, we know you were very reluctant to go to sleep in that video. Your expression was saying "do I really have to?"
That was funny, probably not to you and funny to us.

Can't believe that you guys aren't allowed to sleep in your mom and dads bed with them. Perhaps you should suggest that.

I go to bed too when told to, except I take a stuffie with me. =) mom says that when my stool is not the way it is supposed to be she broils hamburger meat and makes steamed rice, it helps to stick in my stomach and she will mix the rice with my food. also kaopectate helps initially.

We have sleepy time here too! I never minded my bunker. It kept me safe from the Renlentlessly Huge when I was really tiny.

All Mom has to say here is "crate" and we all head to our crates. To sleep - NAH!!! That means it is cookie time before bedtime. As soon as we finish the treat and the humans disappear to their beds, we come out and sleep on the floor or on our beds or maybe sometimes we even go back in our crates.

Loved seeing the puppy pics.

It didn't look like you were quite ready for bed!

Awww...Gus & Waldo, those pictures of you when you were little in your crates are just adorable!!

Ha! Ha! And I liked the video - I do a similar thing too, Gus, when I don't really want to go on my bed...I try to wriggle out of it by just lying down next to my bed and hope my humans won't notice! :-)

I started in a crate, but now I have full run of the house. Even though I'm a miniature schnauzer, my people complain how I take up most of their bed!

you are so cute when it's sleeptime. that's good that you don't have to sleep in a cage anymore. cages are for wild beasts, not family members. hee hee!

woofs.

Hi, Gus & Waldo...

I bet you like sleeping on your pillows instead of the cage...

I guess some doggies like their cages & that is good...I hated mine - it lasted 1 nite & then my Mom gated off the whole kitchen for me...

Now I sleep in my Mom's room on her bed for a minute, then I go to my bed...

Sleep is great...I love it when my Mom says, "Let's go to bed"...

You pups have the sleep routine down! We don't have to sleep in our crate anymore either, but we have to go in it when Mom and Dad go to work.
